High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Benetton B195 was Benetton's 1995 F1 car, designed by Rory Byrne and Ross Brawn. The B195 was almost identical to the Benetton B194 but a change of engine supplier from Ford to Renault caused a redesign of the engine installation, gearbox and rear suspension. The car was now powered by a Renault V10 engine of the same type the rival Williams team was using. The B195 was not as stable as the Williams FW17 and was seen by most paddock insiders as inferior to its rival. The car was designed with the aerodynamic limitations the FIA imposed for the season including smaller wings, better crash protection and the reduction of engine size from 3.5 to 3.0 litres. After an initial disqualification and subsequent re-instatement of victory in Brazil, Michael Schumacher carried on from where he had left off in 1994, and battled Damon Hill for the world championship. The two drivers had several collisions and near misses just as in 1994, the most notable was at the British Grand Prix that year when Hill attempted to pass and took both he and Schumacher out of the race.

The car is distinguishable from its predecessor due to it being narrower than the previous year' s car as per the regulations of the 1993 season. Other than that it is almost visibly identical to the preceding car. In terms of performance it was an improvement on the 1992 competitor. Michael Schumacher was able to consistently challenge the McLarens and on occasion challenged the seemingly undefeatable Williams FW15C. It is arguable that it was the second most competitive car on the grid with Schumacher regularly scoring podiums and out-qualifying the single-lap ace Ayrton Senna in 8 of the 16 races of the season. Having a factory engine in contrast to McLaren having to make do with a customer unit gave Benetton a noticeable power advantage although Williams used a far superior Renault V10 unit. The car was very advanced in the technological sense and featured active suspension, a semi-automatic transmission and traction control from the Monaco Grand Prix onwards.
