The Role of the External Auditor in Bank Regulation and Supervision. A Comparative Analysis between the UK, Germany, Italy and the US Книга по Требованию Marianne O.
Even though the external auditor could not gain access to such information as the central bank' s early warning indicators, there’s still a role for the external auditor at an individual firm level in providing vital information and performing numerous specialised tasks. As well as this role, the role of assisting the regulator in such a way as to avoid “regulatory capture”, will be considered briefly. This research not only proposes an alternative single regulator model for the UK, but also addresses how the external auditor could assist the regulator through an indirect system of supervision which provides for the most effective means of obtaining and evaluating crucial information relating to the well-being of a financial institution. In recommending the external auditor’s expertise, such issues concerning the need for greater pro- active monitoring by regulators, safeguards operating to ensure that the external auditor can fulfil his roles effectively, the need for clearer definition of the external auditor’s role (reducing the audit expectations gap), and audit liability interalia require consideration.

Wicked Sons, German Heros. Jewish Soldiers, Veterans, and Memories of World War I in Germany Книга по Требованию Greg C.
After the war, the National Association of Jewish Combat Veterans (Reichsbund juedischer Frontsoldate, or RjF) organized combat patrols to defend their religious community against antisemitic attacks, and organized German Jewry welcomed the RjF' s campaign to instill military masculinity in the younger generation. The RjF denounced Zionist and leftist Jews in the last years of the Weimar Republic, however, and then sought and received exemptions for veterans from antisemitic legislation in the first years of the Third Reich. In the eyes of many contemporaries, the leaders of the RjF became the wicked sons of German Jewry. Jewish soldiers in the First World War believed their heroics in battle would at long last complete the integration of Jews into German society. This study traces the journey of the solider in German-Jewish history from wicked son to German hero and back again. In traditional Jewish life, military service represented assimilation to the surrounding culture and rejection of the Jewish community. German-Jewish institutions did not embrace military masculinity until the birth of Zionism in the late 1800s.

Sporting Modernity. Sports, Art, and the Athletic Body in Germany, 1918-1938 Книга по Требованию Joann S.
But sports and art institutions as well as avant-garde artists looked more closely at sports' potential to rejuvenate a populace demoralized by World War I and cultivate a more dynamic, harmonious society. This book examines images of sports in the visual arts of Weimar Germany to explore how institutions and artists forged a link between sports and art and gave new visual form to notions about the ideal body. It looks at the 1930 Berlin art exhibition Sports as Cultural Factor and sports at the Bauhaus and investigates the sports pictures of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Anton Raederscheidt, and Willi Baumeister as exemplary case studies. Besides examining Weimar sports culture and its link to art, this study illuminates the complex ways in which artists used the motif of the athletic body to define humans' relation to modernity while addressing issues of industrialization, gender, mind-body dualism, and the promotion of sports.
